Irrverk
Irrverk is a small, independent silversmith workshop in the northern parts of Sweden, founded on a simple idea, to bring back something that I believe we are slowly losing.
The value of things made by hand.
In a world where almost everything can be produced faster, cheaper and in greater numbers, Irrverk follows a different path. A slower one.
This is a way of keeping the old artisan spirit alive. Of working slowly and intentionally. Of allowing the material, the process and the human hand to remain visible.
At the heart of Irrverk is also the belief that jewelry can be more than something we wear simply for decoration. It can carry meaning. Mark a moment in life. Represent something we believe in, something we have been through, or something we never want to forget.
Sustainable
I mainly work with recycled precious metals, with respect for both the material itself and the person it will eventually belong to.
Meaningful
Jewelry can be more than just a beautiful accessory. It can be a symbol, and a piece of intention. A small object can become deeply personal.

Marks of authenticity
The marks carried within
Every piece carries more than the visible marks of craftsmanship. Stamped into the metal are small signs that tell where it was made, when it was made, who made it and what it is made from.
These marks are part of a long goldsmithing and silversmithing tradition. An honest record of origin, responsibility and authenticity.
925
Precious metal mark
Identifies the precious metal and its fineness. Sterling silver is marked 925, while gold pieces are stamped 14K or 18K according to their alloy.
IRV
Responsibility mark
The registered maker's mark of Irrverk, identifying the workshop responsible for the piece.
NJB
Smith's mark
My personal craftsman's stamp, carrying my initials as the smith and maker behind the piece.

Year mark
Records the year in which the piece was made, following the Swedish system of year marks.
Place mark
Marks the place of origin, the workshop in Sollefteå, in the northern parts of Sweden.
Together, these small impressions become a permanent record of the piece. Its material, its origin, its maker and the time in which it was created.
Personal reflections
Words from the smith
I have always been drawn to things that carry traces of where they came from. Things that have been shaped by hands, by time, by use and by life.
To me, there is something deeply human in making something slowly, and with passion. Taking a raw piece of material and spending hours shaping it into something that will eventually leave my care and become part of someone else's life.
Every piece that is crafted passes through my hands. I saw, shape, solder, hammer and finish each one here in my workshop. No two pieces will ever be completely identical, and I don't want them to be. That is part of what handmade means to me.
I don't believe jewelry needs to have a meaning. Sometimes we simply wear something because we love the way it looks or feels. But I love that it has the possibility to become something more.
It can remind us of who we are. Where we have been. Someone we love. A difficult chapter we made it through, or a new one we are about to begin.
And somewhere along the way, the piece itself begins to change. It gathers scratches, marks and traces of the life of the person wearing it, collecting its own memories. In that sense, I only make the beginning of its story.
